Former Musician Returns to His Roots
I’m 62 and in the last two years have returned to music as a full-time profession.
I started in the entertainment field as an actor/singer/dancer in NYC and have done 7 Broadway shows. I have a degree in theater from New York state university and additional music study at the University of Miami where I lived after my Broadway career ended.
I moved to Europe where I toured as a jazz singer. I lived in Atlanta and worked as a jazz singer; in the mid 80’s I moved to San Diego, where I live now. In 1984 I started work as a meeting planner and went full-time into the hospitality industry, doing national sales, hotel sales, and the like for 20 years.
Five years ago I took up the guitar again and started playing 3-4 hours a day. I started doing gigs around town and loved it. Two years ago I went back into music full time as a jazz guitar player. I’m happy to say I’m making a living doing what I love to do. I have three weekly steadies and fill in with one nighters.
