Welcome to the Master Music Teacher Blog!

My name is Chuck Anderson. This year celebrates my 46th year of teaching music! Having taught as much as I have and having researched this subject as much as I have, I have come to some very specific conclusions. The first is that music has no prejudice against age. You can start at anytime. If you’ve always heard that you have to start music at a young age, you did not hear the truth. From my perspective, the adult learning music or returning to music is more likely to find substantial rewards in pursuing music. Their focus is better. Their life experience is obviously greater. They have a better idea of what they would like to get from music.

In many cases, people regret not getting involved in music when they were younger. Time, money and other priorities prevented their involvement. But later on in life, they now actually do have time for themselves. What a concept! Especially after raising a family where your own best interests were often sacrificed for the kids or the family in general. But now is the time!

This web site is going to shed light on every question you ever had about learning or returning to music. We’ll cover choosing an instrument, a teacher, a program of study. Where is the best place to buy your instrument? How much should you spend? The list goes on and on.

So stop back often. The information will be constantly expanding and we’re always here to answer your questions.

Good luck in your pursuit of your own musical dreams. We will be with you every step of the way.

I think this Web Site is great! I am 53, and play Jazz piano – I played when I was a kid, but was away from playing for about 20 years, so starting back playing about 6 years seemed like from scratch. I am playing regularly, but need to be more focused during practice, as this site preaches. Thanks for this great resource
