Music, Now Found, Is What Was Missing

Richard Pierce had a rough start, but by his 40s he was playing in a band; doing what he loved.
I started messing with the guitar when I was young; never took a lesson. Played here and there; quit it many times due to getting in trouble young and going to jail; getting married not once but twice; both failed. I had many bouts with depression and drug addictions as well.
I started playing again in my late 30s and mainly started working for other bands, as a stage tech or road manager. I joined a Southern rock band at 44; within a year the band had enough of a buzz going that I got endorsed by Schecter Guitars!
Since then we have released a CD, which has sold over 30,000 copies without any label or professional help – mainly by hand and at shows.
Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd liked us enough to play on 3 tracks on that CD as well! We have helped raise over a million dollars for children’s charities (Joe D’Maggio Children’s Hospital) through the years.
We are now about to release CD No. 2; we expect it to do very well. So yeah, endorsed at 45, new CD at 50, and probably a tour. Music is my life. I wish I stuck with it when I was young; it was what I was missing all those years! Listen to Richard Pierce and the band Rambler.
